This administration's "can do," efficient government, costs no more than the ineffective prior administration's "can't afford it" efforts: Our rate $0.31 per thousand of assessed value Vs. theirs $0.72 per thousand of assessed value for town general expenses. (While valuations went up in 2004, the real tax costs are down.)

Active, involved kids are more likely to be happy, healthy kids. This administration has initiated a town youth committee to encourage a full spectrum of youth programs for our children.

Dems acted to help families stay together in Gardiner with a law that exempts from taxation for any increase in assessed value on residential property resulting from the construction or reconstruction of such property for the purpose of providing living quarters for a parent or grandparent, who is sixty-two years of age or older.
